When you commission a piece of custom stained glass, you need more than just expertise in constructing the stained glass window or door. Stained glass installation is so important, we customize our process according to the weight and size of the windows as well as the area they will be installed into. For instance, we would use somewhat different installation methods for massive church windows than we would for a small shower window.

But one thing they all have in common is that the stained glass is installed in such a way as to protect it from the elements. Our basic installation method for a stained glass window is as follows:

1. The new stained glass panel is bonded to the inside of the existing plain window. (Or a new pane of clear glass is added to ensure the protection of the stained glass.)

2. A thin bead of colored caulk is run around the edges, to ensure no dirt or other substances can find their way between the two panes of glass and mar the beauty of the stained glass.

3. The stained glass installation is complete, and the homeowner is left to admire their new windows.
